YMCA New Horizons Program
We are currently accepting applications for our next intake.
This program assists out-of-school immigrant youth in making a healthy transition to the labour market and/or further education by focusing on improving skills.
Participants will:
- Gain practical work experience
- Take part in skills development sessions
- Develop pre-employment and computer skills
- Improve your life skills and leadership experience
- Receive goal setting and job search support
- Receive an allowance while in the program
- Gain access to YMCA Calgary recreational facilities
- Participate in a community service learning project
You can participate if you are:
- An immigrant or convention refugee
- 16 to 30 years old*
- Unemployed or under-employed
- Not in school and have not received employment insurance during the last three years
- Able to communicate in English
