Database Administrator - Sybase or SQL Server
Our government client is looking for one Database Administrator - Sybase or SQL Server
for their Ottawa location.
The Sybase Database Administrator works in a Sybase database environment. The SQL Server Database Administrator has the Database Administrator responsibilities as described below and works in a SQL Server database environment.
1) Providing detailed designs, implementation interfaces including database

Mandatory and Rated tables:
M1. Minimum of eighty-four (84) months experience in the IT industry.
M2. Minimum of twenty-four (24) months experience working with client/server architecture, technologies and tools, on Microsoft Windows and/or UNIX platforms, in a business application development, maintenance, and support environment.
M3. Minimum of sixty (60) months experience working in either a Sybase or SQL Server database
environment while a) designing and supporting the database, b) creating and configuring the database,
c) developing and testing database objects and batch jobs, and d) performing the backup, restore, and
recovery of the databases. Note that the specific database type may be specified when a Task
Authorization is issued.
R1. Experience supporting a Sybase or SQL Server (any version) database in a Government or large corporate environment. This experience must be in addition to and with the same database type as the Mandatory requirement of the sixty (60) months experience required by M.3. Note that the specific database type may be specified when a Task Authorization is issued. (60 pts)
R2. Experience working with client/server architecture, technologies and tools on Microsoft Windows and/or UNIX platforms, in a business application development, maintenance, and support environment. This experience must be in addition to the Mandatory requirement of the twenty-four (24) months experience required by M.2. (24 pts)
R3. Experience preparing and maintaining the versions of the physical database to support ongoing development, testing, production and maintenance environments. (36 pts)
R4. Experience providing production support to application development groups. (36 pts)
R5. Experience using a CASE tool to support and maintain the database design and objects. (25 pts)
