回复: 蒙特8月份的活动有哪些?
From Gazette:
Summer fun kicks into high gear over the next nine days. This morning, hot-air balloons take to the air on the first day of the nine-day International de Montgolfires de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu. And next weekend, Jean Drapeau Park hosts La Fte des enfants de Montral.
The Montgolfires festival fires up for flights at various parks in the St. Jean region at 6 a.m., which means rubbing the sleep out of your eyes mighty early. The good news is St. Jean is only around a 20-minute drive from the Champlain Bridge,
and watching the morning flights is free.
On site, 110 balloons take off every evening at 6 p.m., and glowing balloons float heavenward at 8:45 p.m. today, tomorrow and Aug. 18.
The festival site offers much more than balloon watching - games and jungle gyms for kids and teens, food and beverages, live entertainment all day and fairway rides. To finish the day, there are two big shows with marquee names, at 8 and 9 p.m.
Tonight's 9 p.m. show, called Salut la chanson du Qubec - Cap sur Petite Valle, features a Who's Who of Quebec talent, including Richard Sguin, Daniel Lavoie, Louise Forestier and Pierre Flynn.v
Every night's a big night, but here's a peek: Stefie Shock (Wednesday); Les Cowboys Fringants (Friday); Dennis De Young - The Music of Styx, with guest ric Lapointe (Aug. 18), and, on Aug. 19, there's family performer Annie Brocoli (4 p.m.), Kaolin (8 p.m.) and a comedy lineup with host Sbastien Benot (9 p.m.).
Also next weekend is La Fte des enfants at its brand new site - Jean Drapeau Park. The two days are booked solid with activities for all ages and it's all free. Even the mtro ride is free if you pick up a pass at a Jean Coutu pharmacy.
The new location has allowed the children's festival to expand its repertoire of kids' activities to include free swims at the Centre aquatique de l'le Sainte-Hlne, where you can also watch synchronized swimming and diving demonstrations. And admission is free both days at the Stewart Museum and the Biosphere.
More festival firsts include a painting contest for budding artists, circus-skills demonstrations, a hockey slapshot range and a mask-painting workshop that looks at masks from around the world.
There's live entertainment all day long, with singing and dancing from around the world, and youngsters can visit with firefighters, police officers and ambulance technicians and check out their vehicles and equipment.
Personal security is always foremost at such large gatherings - the children's fest drew more than 200,000 last year - but the issue is more prominent this year after the event was recently named a "top notch" spot to watch young girls by a website devoted to pedophilia.
Kevin Donnelly, of the Socit du parc Jean Drapeau said Thursday that although no extra security will be added, there will be 200 park security agents, police and private security on site.
The International de Montgolfires de Saint-Jean-sur-Richelieu runs until Aug. 19. The festival site is near the entrance to the municipal airport. Gates open Saturday and Sunday at noon and weekdays at 3:30 p.m. Take Exit 22 off the Eastern Townships Autoroute (Highway 10). A one-day family pass costs $37. 450-347-9555 or
