I believe you have heard of the catastrophic earthquake that recently struck China. The 7.9 magnitude tremor, which was focused in China’s Sichuan Province, is estimated to have killed more than 20,000 people ― and that toll is expected to rise dramatically as rescue teams reach the most affected areas. In the city of Mianyang, near the earthquake’s epicenter, over 18,600 people are buried under the rubble of collapsed buildings. Another county is reporting that more than 80 percent of buildings have been destroyed. The Chinese government estimates that as many as 3.5 million homes have been destroyed. Sichuan province is a beautiful and peaceful place, where the beloved pandas live, and it has many breath-taking ancient towns and cities.
Please help the survivors and people who lost their loved ones in this tragedy by making a donation.
