it's true that lawyers and notaries are not well paid. but it's not bad if you consider how many years they passed in the school.
the average salary for a notary is 75,000 per year, for a lawyer, it's a little bit higher.
but if you work in china, your salary is probably a million.there are about ten or fifteen quebecer lawyers who work in china now.
there are some lawyers who eat pizza usually in the street, and some are jobless. but all of them are quebecers.
I've never seen a chinese lawyer or notary who have no job. and their salaries are usually higher than their quebecer counterparts.
I do think that this career is not that good, but it's enough good when you consider what you put.(only four years and you get your permit. think how many years a doctor use to get his permit and esp. that feeling of holpless facing a sad family)
don't forget you have 0 risk to be laid off and your salary increases with your experience.
the most interesting thing in this career is that you can do sth different than traditional careers: defending interests of your chinese community, working in the field of human rights or social aid.
there are a lot of scond-generation chinese in law schools. this is good.
accountant is also a good career.
