在美国加拿大, 医生,教师,护士等算PROFESSIONAL, 这里有张表,就是所谓的美国加拿大的PROFESSIONAL 职位,如果你是加拿大公民,只要得到下述职位,并有本科以上本专业学位(OFFER里会注明这个职位所必须学位,在边境办理TN时要验证你的学位),就可持TN到美国工作:

这和很多中国移民理解的有些出入,不是大家认为的所谓专业(大学开设的专业)工作.这些是真正的可以去美国工作的专业(职业)工作.

professional有广义和狭义之分。

狭义专业工作（就是民众心里真正认可的，民众我是指本地人）里只包括律师、医生、护士、工程师、持证会计师、教师、精算师等等真正的专业人士（特点是社会地位高，学历高，收入高）。

广义专业工作里包括了很多半专业的工作。 现在professional这个词已经被用烂了，很多技工类工作也都把自己的association和title名称里加入professional一词了。
