As the world reacts to the announcement by Apple today of a new tablet-style computer called the iPad, many are speculating on how it will impact the technology world.

And while Apple has certainly had its share of devices that never really caught on, the company more often than not seems to strike gold when unveiling a new device.

Here is a look at the iPad, as well as a few of the other innovative products the computer company has unveiled over its 30-plus-year history.

Apple II
Unveiled: 1977

The first computer to really make it into homes, the Apple II was notable at the time for its ability to display color and graphics. Packed in a beige plastic case, the Apple II and its later iterations (including the Apple IIGS, at right) gained a foothold in classrooms around the country throughout the 1980s, and was the platform for one of the most popular educational video games ever, Oregon Trail.

Macintosh
Unveiled: 1984

The Macintosh, released with a boatload of hype and a memorable '1984' Super Bowl commercial (at right), was the first personal computer to utilize a graphical user interface (GUI), something that was soon followed by Microsoft's Windows operating system -- and the two have been battling for the home computing market ever since. The Macintosh cost about $2,500 when it first came out.

iMac
Unveiled: 1998

Apple aimed to rethink the design of desktop computers when it introduced the first iMac, which was the first Apple product to include the prefix "i." The computer combined the monitor and hardware components of a computer into a single enclosure, and was marketed for its ease of setup and its round appearance. Newer versions of the iMac are much thinner and feature a flat-screen display with all of the hardware packed in behind it.

iBook
Unveiled: 1999

While Apple had been in the laptop market since 1991 when its first Powerbook was introduced, it wasn't until the iBook hit that Apple really took hold of the consumer market for laptops. Coming in a variety of colors to match the appeal of the iMac, the original iBook came with a 300-megahertz processor and cost $1,599, much cheaper than what Powerbooks were going for.

iTunes
Unveiled: 2001

iTunes caught on with the digital music revolution that exploded in part because of the free music sharing tool Napster. But when Napster ceased being the free go-to site for music, iTunes slowly took over the pay-for-music realm on the Web when the iTunes store opened in 2003. In addition to integrating with the emerging portable mp3 player market at the time, iTunes provided an easy way to manage, purchase, and burn digital music to CD. iTunes has since expanded to manage video, audio books, and more digital content.

iPod
Unveiled: 2001

Apple entered the digital music market with the iPod, which featured a much easier way to navigate and manage a portable digital playlist than other devices on the market. The original iPod held as many as 1,000 songs in 5 gigabytes of storage, had a black-and-white screen, and a 10-hour battery life. It also integrated seamlessly with the iTunes application, making for easy transfer of digial music files from computer to mp3 player.

Apple Store
Unveiled: 2001

Apple created a new kind of retail store when it began selling its computers, iPods, software, and accessories at malls and stand-alone stores. Known for a less-is-more layout, Apple Stores have far fewer shelves than most other retail spaces, instead reserving space for main products to be featured in product demo displays. The stand=alone stores also feature a unique design accentuated by glass panels. There are about 300 Apple stores across the globe, with the largest being Boston's Apple Store on Boylston Street, which opened in 2008.

iLife
Unveiled: 2003

Apple combined movie, sound, and photo editing and publishing applications into a single suite of consumer-friendly applications. The first iteration of iLife sold as a stand-alone product before becoming part of the bundled software with new Macs. iLife now includes iMovie, iDVD, Garage Band, iPhoto, and iWeb. The applications are popular for their ease of use for novices, where previous consumer products for editing videos, photos, and audio had a much steeper learning curve.

Mac Mini
Unveiled: 2005

Apple's tiny box of a computer featured the minimalist design Apple had come to be known for, with a slot on the front for CDs and DVDs, and ports on the back for connecting a monitor, keyboard, and mouse (which were not included with the computer). The machine measured at a minuscule 6.5 inches by 2 inches, and weighed less than 3 pounds. It also came with Apple's OS X operating system and the iLife software suite.

iPhone
Unveiled: 2007

The original iPhone combined the cellphone, iPod, and Web browser in one touch-screen device, revolutionizing the cellphone market and spawning an army of competitors looking to capitalize on the iPhone's universal appeal. Initally selling for $499 for a 4 gigabyte version and $599 for 8 gigabytes, it also came with a 2-megapixel camera.

App Store
Unveiled: 2008

Perhaps just as important as Apple's innovative iPhone device was its decision to allow developers to create applications -- or "apps'' -- for the device, and make them available through the App Store. The store, which was accessible through the iTunes Store, allowed users to download certain apps for free, and others for a fee. Apps ranged from video games to stock trackers, and everything in between. There are currently more than 100,000 apps available for the iPhone in the App Store, much more than for any other mobile device.

这次的这个iPad不喜欢,别的都还好。Logo的含义是要想享受完美就要忍受缺憾,有缺憾的完美才是真正的完美。
