来了之后,你可以去参加ELT(Enhanced Language Training)培训, 这个项目提供Work placement(当然是无薪的),可以让你积累所谓的加拿大经验。

suggest u and LZ come to toronto instead of other small cities; it's not a easy life at all for any newcomers at the first year or two, staying in small city without a car, poor english and less chinese atmosphere will make ur life even harder.
downtown( i had no experience , though) or scarborough will be my suggestion for both of you.
some chinese ppl live around kennedy & shepperd area coz it's a quite convenient location, but i have no clue how is the school's performance, and ppl in that area are relatively low income; some live near fairviewmall ;
If u don't mind ur kid attending catholic school, Peace of Prince catholic school is the top one elementory school near Mccowan & steel, u may rent a master bedroom ( $ 500-550/month) in alton tower condo ; park, chinese supermarket, library and school are just right accross the street.
u may need about $550 ( rent) + 200 ( food) + 50 ( phone) + 200 ( others) per month at first yr without a car;
u may then settle down , learning english, get a parttime job buy a car after a few month- 2yr, buy a house according to the high school ur kid will go to; date someone if needed; that's all about it; life then becomes easy and meaningful ; good luck.
