don't panic. take time and think how to repair this.
1, make sure u or some else have put all of your important papers in one of your cases. call ur relative to look for again at your home in china.
2, make sure the case in which u put all your papers have not been opened.
3, if u follow the above two steps and u are sure that the answers are yes.
u need to contact the canadian customs, for i think, they took all your papers. transporting the important papers is perhaps illegal, esp. papers of chinese immigrants.
two years ago, i read a report saying that the canadian customs found that most of chinese immigrants' diplomas, transported by air or ship and after their landing, were fake. so they started to take some measures to stop this trend.
the same story happened to Shadow of vancouver, his passport was losted when their family mailed to south africa, for, finally they found also, the customs officer had retained his passport. but anyway, he reclaimed it and got it finally.
some general information: your papers were not stolen, for your jewelry is always there. the thiefs in customs are never this stupid. usually, they are workers in coustomes or they have some insiders as conspirers.
the customs has got a sophisticated detective machine, which can dectect any worms in a big container, not mention some things looking like diplomas.
but, if the customs did nothing. u have to do some things as following , which i think important.
1, u went through all the immigration procedure, so u must have some certified diploma acts (legal paper). and u can use this in the place of your diplomas, for the employers seldom ask u to show them the dimplas, for the diplomas are written in chinese, for they have no time. your working capability is much more important than these papers.
2, i wish ur answer to the above one is yes, so i cannot pose your this second question. if u have no certified legal paper, u perhaps have some plain copies of your diplomas.
3, then, find out your diploma's serial number, and use this number to confirm if your diplomas have been registered at the official site of china. most of chinese diplomas have been registered at this official site.
4, then, contact the universities to which u attended, and ask them what u should do to get a duplicate. u know, they can do it, but it takes ages. but u have to do this, anyway.
then, at the same time, contact some people who fake diplomas in the same city as your university's location. send them a copy of your diploma and ask them to do the same thing ( esp. the same serial number)
5, the marriage certificate is a piece of cake. u say the truth and make them to give you a duplicate. perhaps ur husband's certifcate is not lost? u put them together?
