Coming New To Canada

My mother never knew that the first day in Canada would be so hard. She always had a better life in Shanghai and coming to Canada was so hard that she will never forget it.

When the airplane was landing, she looked out the window. The lights were shining and looked like many bright pearls that inlayed on the ground. She was so happy, excited and afraid. When she got out of the plane, there were no friends or relatives waiting for her. She got some phone numbers in the airport and found a hotel.

The next morning she checked out but stored all her luggage in the hotel and tried to find a place to live. She looked at the sky and took a deep breath. Her dream was complete. She had come to Canada. She had waited for this moment for four years and now it had come true. But things don’t always go the way we expect. It was about one o’clock. She was a little bit tired and wanted to sleep. But, she couldn’t even find a place that she could live. She hired a taxi and used the information sheets she got in the airport to find a house agency.

The agent asked her if she had a job and she said she just arrived to Canada. How could she have a job already. So, the agent said that she couldn’t rent a house or an apartment. At that time, she got the keys to the street and she tasted vagrancy. Couldn’t money do anything? She had a lot of money, but she could do nothing. She tasted a kind of sorriness that she had never tasted before.

The sky was still blue, the sun was still shining, the birds were still singing and she still couldn’t find a place to live. She was so tired, hungry and thirsty. She felt so ill in her body and in her heart. After lunch, she wanted to go back downtown and find a hotel again.

On the bus, she met an immigrant family from Shanghai. They also wanted to go downtown with their 5-year-old daughter. So, they brought her downtown and bought today’s Chinese newspaper. Then they told her how to rent a house or an apartment. They also helped her find a hotel.

Night was coming and the wind became more powerful. Look at their little daughter shaking in the wind. She didn’t think that was good enough. So, she said good-bye to them and tried to help herself.

After that, she asked a lot of people how to find the hotel, but nobody knew. The sky became darker and darker and the weather became colder and colder. But, she still tried to find somewhere to live. That night at about ten o’clock, a policeman helped her find a hotel. The next day, a new immigrant helped her find a place to live. Then her life became better.

Even now, when the night is coming, she always thinks about new immigrants just like her at that time, standing in the wind and getting the keys to the street.[/B][/B][/B]

Feel so sorry for your mom, is it true story? If it is, why you did not book the family hotel for her?
