i find there are a lot of quebec and french people in montreal who like chinese immigrants, for i surf some french sites very often.
recently, they talked about french language problem in a famous immigration site, which was triggered by a montreal french language movement organised several days ago in montreal.
a post author said that she liked her chinese owner of depanneur, for he is really kind. and she feels fine when he speaks english but not french.
another french immigrant asked some information about china town, for she wishes live there and be close with chinese.
some french people ( they have some ideas, but not well reasoned) say that we, allophones ( whose mother tongue is not english or french), don't try very hard to learn french, that's why we, chinese people, speak french not very well, and some of us just abandoned and even left for the Rest of Canada. he even said that people from haiti, senegal, tunisie, marroc, algeria, togo ... speak well, for they try hard. (nonsense, some french people are simple ''frogs in the well''..., if they are not lunatics)
the conclusion of this long debate: the next generation of we chinese immigrants will be better, and will speak perfect french.
but high individual IQ cannot guarantee personal success, don't mention china's success.
perhaps we need more things, 'collective and solidary high IQ' like coreans or japanese.
u catch the point, my friends.
chinese immigrants' economy is focused in our own circle, if not, in the commerce of low-ended products.
we have a lot of things to learn from jews, italians and germans. also minorities.
