Are you licensed CPA? If you are licensed, it means you have obtained enough knowledge and experience. You definitely do not need to be re-educated.
Most of companies are tied up with their year-end and financial statements. Be patience, companies will be back to their recruitments when the auditors are out of their offices.

Thanks for your info. I thought about the same thing. I am fully licensed with 5 years US working experiences as both internal and external auditing. I guess I have to wait then but my money bag just keeps shrinking!

mostly in auditing and financial reports preparation (more like a financial accountant rather than tax accountant). if you have more other opportunities, please feel free to drop me a line. thanks!

Go try Calgary. I know the big 4 are actively trying to recruit and grow there.
It's busy season right now for audit firms, and my understanding is that firms are staffed for the season. Openings may come up, but systematic recruitment won't happen.
I know if you are a CA and want to practice in America, you need to take an equivalency exam. Is there one for CPAs practicing in Canada?
