good post.
tastes differ. different people have different reasons of immigrating.
when people ask me why i choose to immigrate to canada, i think hard to find out my reasons, so social assurance, public order, education quality or even environment (of course, these things are important) etc... are my often quated and prepared reasons, to meet the expectations of friends and relatives.
but ironically, i've never considered these reasons seriously, for i have only one true reason: change air and have a look before i'm too old to do it. and if my new life is not pleasant in canada, i cannot see why i have to stay in canada and not to go home.
yeah, we will never build a castle in the air, so lz's word is wise, for a good preparation can facilitate our new immigrant life.
I have seen some many people here dreaming for the PR visa. I do not think they really know what they are doing. Actually, this is also one of the reasons that I decided to submit the application for Permanent Resident Visa after I get to Canada. I do not want to go to a country where I will not feel comfortable. Life is for me to enjoy, not to suffer.
Yes, sometime, in order to achieve our goal, we take some chances or risks, but is it worthwile to risk all we have achieved in the first-half of our lives? I have to think it over before making a decision.
hi, it's advantageous to proceed your immigration if u have got an offer, but if your offer is sth about a chinese contrat, it's not very interesting. but if this is a local contract, u can have a try.
best wishes

Thanks for your kind advice. I will hold on with it until I got the Work Permit, because my offer is for intra-company transferee, therefore, it is not confirmed by HRDC. I must have a vaild work permit and the visa should be at least 12 month at the time I submit the application, so I have to wait until I get to Canada.
