Program Outline
This full time, five-month pre-apprenticeship training program enables participants to enter careers in the areas of construction and manufacturing trades.
How It Works
Selected participants will go through a 21 week pre-apprenticeship training program that includes:
Academic (English, Math & Science) upgrading
Employability skills training
Technical training at SAIT
Work experience
Job placement in the trade
Benefits to You
Learn valuable skills in a specific trade
Improve your financial situation
Get a well paying job that leads to certification in the trade
Learn how to work in a team environment
Who Can Apply?
You can apply if you:
Are an unemployed immigrant or aboriginal person
Are a resident of Alberta (for at least 3 months)
Living in Calgary
Preference is given to those receiving Employment Insurance (EI), Income Support, or have received EI within the past three years
Immigrants must have a Canadian Language Benchmarks (CLB) Level 4/5
