As far as I know, most of my neighbors' family income are higher than 110,000. They all come from China, have been here more than 8 years. Usually husbands are on IT field($80,000-100,000), wives on accounting or Admin field($30,000-$40,000)
They are all busy on raising children, sending them to all kinds of classes to learn something. they don't have time to chat on Chinese BBS. Lives are not easy for them either, after tax, not much left. They have to pay mortgage for house and cars. |

西人和华人一样的，只不过西人自立的比重高些。我认识一个女西人，独居，自己女儿女婿收入不高，一天到晚忙着打工，就把孩子甩给她带。虽然这个女西人平时花钱如流水，过着很奢侈的生活，衣柜里全是上千刀的高档衣服，最后还不是得乖乖给女儿带孩子。

新移民中IT的确是最容易入门的专业了，因为IT业并不属于受管制行业(regulated profession)，也就是说法律上来讲不需要任何专业证书就可以工作(不需要证书=没有最低学历要求和入行考试) 。 而工程，医疗等专业都属于受管制专业，必须要有相关的专业证书(取得此证书前一般必须经过最低的学历要求和考试)，比如PEng, MD, DDS, RN等。 这些受法律保护的行业里在没达到要求前（比如通过考试得到证书）叫自己是professional engineer，doctor等都属于违法。
受管制行业当然要比不受管制的行业好（regulated professions很好地保护了注册专业人士），但对于新移民来说本地证书很难取道，非受管制的职业自然要容易进的多。 |

CGA好像满街都是，2年能做到财务总监？好像没有CMA是不行的吧？多伦多的行情应该比卡尔加里差，CGA好像没有年头的话，也就是6-7万的行情了，甚至更低。

我不知道多大的企业才会设定总监这样的级别。按道理来说，温哥华的工资水平更低。而登陆两年就能在一个企业里担任财务总负责，理论上不太可能。除了专业知识外，加拿大还有社会关系的问题，不太可能有企业敢于把自己的财务风险交给一个新移民来全盘负责。
当然，华人公司可能例外。因为大温地区的中小华人公司实在是太多了。不过，华人企业的薪水和福利实在是不敢恭维。 我们一大批同学和校友，CGA差不多二十来个了，上十万年薪的好像还没有。最高的一个是在卡尔加里的一家工程公司当Controller，好像八万多九万的年薪。他是加拿大排名前三的名牌大学硕士毕业，八年抗战经验。 原来有大批的华人在读完书之后南下，就是因为加拿大市场太小，高薪的机会远比美国少。我们这批人赶上了好时候，不过，也不是说高薪就能唾手可得，市场上的竞争还是相当激烈的。国内的移民期待在加拿大的美好前景，心情绝对可以理解；但也不可否认加拿大的现实。 加拿大还是个比较保守的国度，国内的文凭在政府那里可以用来申请移民，但是在雇主眼里大多数时候是一钱不值的。不排除少数人的幸运，不过，不能代表大部分人的真实情况。 |

思维不要停留在普通会计这个层次上，如果有专业会计资格，有做到一定职位的（比如财务总监之类的），一般都有十万左右的年薪。
